Stockton Is a Run, Not a Route
Being straight about this matters more than sounding available.
Modesto is where our yard is, so Modesto containers ride an existing route. Stockton is a genuine drive north, which means a Stockton delivery is scheduled rather than squeezed in. Next-day is almost always available. Same-day depends on whether a truck is already heading that way.
You will get that answer on the phone rather than a hopeful window followed by a call at four in the afternoon. If your timeline is the constraint, say so first and we will build the conversation around it.
The City’s Two Kinds of Jobs
Stockton splits our container work more cleanly than anywhere else we serve.
Residential looks like the rest of the county. Garages, remodels, move-outs, yard renovations. A 14-yard or 20-yard covers nearly all of it, and placement is a driveway conversation.
Property and job-site work is the other half, and it is the reason Stockton bookings tend to run longer on the phone. Rental turnovers, multi-unit cleanouts, construction debris, and commercial clearouts all have questions a house does not: where the container can legally sit on the parcel, whether a gate gets locked overnight, who is on site to receive it, and whether the fill window needs to stretch across a whole project rather than a weekend.
None of that is complicated. It just needs saying out loud before the truck leaves.
Sizing for Stockton Work
- The 14-yard handles one defined space. A garage, a single room, or a yard clear-out. It is also the only size we run as a dump trailer as well as a roll-off, which helps on a tight approach.
- The 20-yard fits both halves of the city. A remodel with cabinets and flooring out, a single-unit rental turnover including carpet and furniture, a garage that has been filling for years.
- The 30-yard is for real volume. Roof tear-offs, multi-room gut work, commercial cleanouts, and construction jobs producing debris across weeks rather than days.
If you are running several units or several phases, it is usually cheaper to plan swaps up front than to discover mid-project that you need a second container. Say so on the first call. The size breakdown covers the details.
Placement Around the City
- North Stockton and Northeast Stockton are the easiest deliveries in the city. Newer development, wide driveways, open approach, and generally clear overhead. A 30-yard is not a problem in most of it.
- Downtown Stockton and the Civic District are the opposite. Limited off-street space is the norm, which pushes more of these jobs toward street placement and therefore toward a permit conversation with the city. Worth resolving before you book rather than after.
- The University District, East Stockton, and South Stockton have older housing stock with narrower driveways and more mature trees over the approach. Frequently a 14-yard or 20-yard situation regardless of how much volume the project generates.
Overhead clearance is the constraint that stops deliveries, not driveway length. The truck lifts a container well above car height to set it down. Walk out, look up, and mention what is over the spot you have in mind.
Permits and Property Lines
Driveway or on-parcel placement is the simple path and covers most bookings.
Street placement is a City of Stockton process, and it is yours to file rather than ours. We will flag it when you give us the address so it does not surprise you on delivery day. For commercial and managed properties, the property owner’s rules often bite before the city’s do. There is more in permits and placement.
What You Can Put In It
Household contents, furniture, appliances, construction debris, drywall, wood, metal, roofing, flooring, and yard waste all go in. Freon appliances and electronics are accepted too, and it helps to flag them at booking.
Wet paint, solvents, automotive fluids, batteries, and tires are out. That is a disposal facility rule rather than ours, and a load containing them can be rejected at the scale house. The accepted list has the full picture, and when something is genuinely ambiguous a phone call beats a guess.
Booking
Call or text (209) 289-5650 with the address, the project, and your timeline.
For a house, that is a two-minute conversation. For a job site or a multi-unit property, spend five and we will get the placement, the window, and the swap schedule right the first time. You approve the full price before we dispatch.
