The Southern End of the Range
We deliver to Merced, and we will be straight about what that means for timing.
Merced sits at the far end of our service map. Containers going there are scheduled runs rather than route work, which is the opposite of how Modesto or Hughson deliveries happen. Practically, that means next-day rather than same-day most of the time, and it means a booking call a day or two ahead gets you a better window than a call at noon does.
What does not change is the price structure. Merced is inside our standard delivery area, not the outlying-county premium zone that applies out in Tuolumne and Calaveras. You are paying the same starting prices as a Modesto customer.
Turnovers and Rentals
A larger share of Merced bookings are property turnovers than in most of the towns we serve, and those have their own rhythm.
A single-unit turnover, where carpet is coming up, furniture is going, and the previous tenant left contents behind, fits a 20-yard nearly every time. The volume looks larger standing in the unit than it does in the container.
Where it gets worth planning is multiple units in a short window. If you are turning three units before the month closes, tell us on the first call. We can schedule the swaps in advance, which means the empty container arrives when the full one leaves rather than after a gap you spend waiting on us. Given that Merced is a scheduled run for us, that gap is longer than it would be in Modesto, so planning it is worth more here.
Sizing It
The 14-yard covers one defined space, and it is the only size we run as a dump trailer as well as a roll-off, which matters on a tight approach.
The 20-yard is the standard turnover and remodel container. Carpet, furniture, contents, cabinets, flooring.
The 30-yard is whole-property volume. A full cleanout where rooms end up bare, a roof tear-off, or a gut renovation. Worth ordering deliberately at this distance, because a second haul to Merced costs more in waiting than it does anywhere closer.
The size breakdown has the detail, and a thirty-second call gets you there faster.
Placement Around Merced
- North Merced, Bellevue and Bellevue Ranch are the easiest deliveries in the city. Newer development, wide driveways, open approach, clear overhead. Any of the three sizes is straightforward.
- Central Merced and the older blocks run into the usual Valley constraints. Narrower driveways, mature trees over the approach, and less off-street room, which is also where street placement and a city permit are most likely to come up.
- Franklin, McNamara, Southeast and West Merced vary lot by lot more than by neighborhood. Worth describing your specific driveway rather than assuming.
The constraint that stops a delivery is almost always overhead clearance, not driveway length. The truck raises the container above car height to set it down. Walk out, look up, and mention what is over the spot.
Permits
A container on your own driveway does not need one. On the public street it becomes a City of Merced process that you file rather than one we handle.
We are not going to tell you a permit is never needed, because that depends on your block and we are not the city. What we will do is flag it when you give us the address, so you find out during the booking call. More in permits and placement.
What Goes In
Household contents, furniture, appliances, construction debris, drywall, wood, metal, roofing, flooring, carpet, and yard waste all go in. Freon appliances and electronics are accepted, and worth mentioning at booking.
Wet paint, solvents, automotive fluids, batteries, and tires are out. That is a disposal facility rule rather than ours, and a load carrying them can be rejected at the scale house. The accepted list covers the rest.
Booking
Call or text (209) 289-5650 with the address, the project, and your timeline.
Because Merced is a scheduled run, the earlier you call the better the window. You will get the size we would bring and the full price before we dispatch.
